Zuleika Greganyck was born in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. She started her training in Classical Ballet at age 5, but was much later, at age 15, when she was introduced to Jazz and Modern dance classes that she discovered a great passion and realized that dance was going to be part of her life.
In 1986 she joined the Cadencia Amateur Dance Group and in 1987 she was invited to join the Watt’s Dance Company, a professional contemporary dance company from Sao Paulo. In 1991 she went to perform with Steps Modern Dance Company also from Sao Paulo. During those years she participated in many theatre productions and dance festivals around Brazil, including the “Joinville Dance Festival”, the biggest dance festival in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records. As well as performing on stage Zuleika has participated on many TV productions and choreographed fashion shows and events.
At the end of 1991 she got her degree in Physical Education from University of Santo Amaro, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Her work as a dancer also gave her the opportunity to travel and perform in many different productions around the world, such as: Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and China. In 1993 she went to Macau, South of China, to work in a famous Dance Show at Casino Lisboa. She worked there until 1999 when she finished what was going to be her last contract as a professional dancer. For personal reasons she decided to remain in Macau and still living there at the present date. Since 1999 she has been working as a Dance and Fitness teacher giving classes for children, teenagers and adults.
From 2004 to 2007 she ran her own Dance Studio introducing courses and workshops in dance styles never done in Macau before. During this period she was introduced to the Pilates technique and was immediately attracted to this wonderful method of exercise. In 2008 she received her Polestar Pilates® Instructor Certification at Iso Fit Studio in Hong Kong.
Zuleika has also enjoyed an experience as a choreographer. In 2007 she was invited to choreograph 3 dance shows for Sands Casino and in 2008 the MacWac Drama Group from IIUM (Macau Inter-University Institute) invited her to choreograph a dance scene for their annual theatre production. She also worked for IIUM as a dance facilitator on their annual Summer Drama Camp.
Nowadays she is working as a Pilates and Dance teacher at various schools and fitness clubs in Macau and is also a Pilates and Dance experience supplier at smallWorld Experience S.A.
Zuleika is aware that teaching is a continuous learning experience and she is often taking courses to upgrade her knowledge in the movement education field. Some of her late courses were: Creative Dance, Teaching Methodology for Classical Ballet and Laban Movement Analysis & Bartenieff Fundamentals.
